During his early research into the Black Arts, Anton Szandor LaVey encountered Maurice Bessy’s A Pictorial History of Magic and the Supernatural. Among its pages was a symbol that would come to define something far greater than the book it appeared in.
When Anton LaVey transformed his working circle, The Order of the Trapezoid, into what would become the Church of Satan, this was the Sigil he chose to stand at its center, an emblem that most completely embodied the principles upon which the first aboveground Satanic church was built.
The original artwork was enlarged into a plaque and mounted above the main ritual altar within the Black House, where it presided over the earliest workings of the Church. It was truly a presence to behold.
In those formative years, this version of the Sigil appeared across membership cards, official documents, and early medallions, each iteration shaped by the hand and limitations of its maker. No two were perfectly alike.
This medallion returns to that point of origin.
Faithfully recreated from the plaque that stood above the primary altar, the Inception Sigil Limited Edition Medallion captures the form of the Sigil as it existed at the moment of foundation, before standardization, before refinement, before it became fixed.

This medallion is another win from Satanme! An excellent idea executed in high quality. So much Satanic merchandise is ugly or low quality, so I was very excited to see how Satanme has commemorated the Church of Satan's 60th Anniversary. As soon as I saw this medallion, I had to have at least one.
The aesthetics are bold and dignified and the craftsmanship is solid. The medallion is no nice that I'm hesitant to wear it every day; it looks and feels more like an award or a collector's item. I appreciate the protective coating Satanme offers as well.
