For the first time since its standardization in 1969, the Sigil of Baphomet has been formally revised.

In preparation for the 60th Anniversary of the Church of Satan (2026 C.E.), Magister Merciless, working in collaboration with High Priest Peter Gilmore, completed the first official update to its form, refining, correcting, and advancing the most recognized symbol of Satanism.

This iteration preserves the integrity of the original while introducing deliberate precise changes. The historical asymmetries have been corrected, the linework has been refined,  the structure has been optimized for clarity across modern mediums without compromising its foundational geometry.

Most notably, the gaze has been transformed. The eyes have been strengthened to project a heightened presence.

Subtle geometric and numerological encodings have been woven into the design, accompanied by a more defined and knowing expression. These refinements do not alter the Sigil’s meaning, they reveal it more clearly.

Released in conjunction with the 60th Anniversary, this Sigil stands alongside the original overseen by Magus Anton Szandor LaVey, and will move forward as an official insignia of the Church of Satan.
